Paul Palmieri Co-founder, President & CEO

Paul has spent the past 16 years building businesses in and around the wireless technology and media industries. As a founder, corporate executive, investor, industry leader and entrepreneur, Paul’s work has had a profound impact on the growth of the mobile media industry.

As Millennial Media’s President and CEO, Paul is responsible for leading the company’s growth and industry leadership. He has guided the company from startup to its current position as the leading mobile advertising network in the US by focusing on the needs of advertisers, innovative technologies and industry growth.

Paul is a well-known pioneer and industry leader in the global mobile entertainment and data marketplace, and led many groundbreaking efforts while at Verizon Wireless. His leadership resulted in new and successful business models that have led to rapid growth in mobile media.

Referred to as a “Content Guru” by Wireless Week, Paul has held key management roles with Verizon Wireless, Advertising.com, Tessco Technologies and American Personal Communications (now SprintNextel). Prior to co-founding Millennial Media, Paul was a Venture Partner with Acta Wireless. Paul is active in industry leadership serving on the boards of the Mobile Marketing Association, CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus Leadership Council, as well as the advisory board for Acta Wireless and three privately held companies in the mobile industry.

Paul is active in economic development – serving on the Board of the Greater Baltimore Technology Council, and on the advisory board for Washington, DC-based incubator LaunchBox Digital. In his community, he serves on the advisory board of the Mobile Giving Foundation, and as a member of the President’s Council at Mount Saint Mary’s College.

Paul received a B.A. from Mount Saint Mary’s College in 1992 and lives in Hunt Valley, Maryland with his wife and two children.

Wenda Harris Millard President, Media Link, LLC

Ms. Millard is President of Media Link, LLC. In her role, she works with the CEO and Founder to manage the company’s divisions, secure new business relationships, and to act as senior advisor to Media Link’s various Representation and Advisory clients.

Previously, Ms. Millard was Co-CEO and President, Media for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (NYSE: MSO). Ms. Millard had joined MSLO in July 2007 after three years as a member of its Board of Directors. She oversaw MSLO’s media businesses, which include publishing, internet and broadcasting. She is credited with elevating the company to its #1 position in percent of revenue derived from digital advertising among all other “traditional” media companies, She led MSLO’s investments in Wedding Wire and ping and was the company’s driving force behind creating cross-platform programs for marketers in TV, digital, magazines and radio.

Before MSLO, Ms. Millard was Chief Sales Officer at Yahoo! and prior to that was Chief Internet Officer at Ziff Davis Media and President of Ziff Davis Internet. Previously, Ms. Millard was a founding member of the executive team at DoubleClick, where she served as Executive Vice President responsible for establishing the DoubleClick brand and overseeing the operations of DoubleClick Media. She also served as President and Group Publisher of SRDS, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Family Circle and Executive Vice President/Group Publisher of Adweek, Mediaweek and Brandweek magazines.

Ms. Millard has received numerous industry awards including the 2007 John A. Reisenbach Award for Distinguished Citizenship; the 2006 “Advertising Person of the Year” Silver Medal Award from the AAF; the 2005 Matrix Award for “Women Who Change the World”; and Advertising Age acknowledged her as a “Digital Media Master,” one of the 20 most influential executives in interactive media. She was the subject of a profile by Tom Brokaw as part of NBC’s “Women to Watch” series.

Ms. Millard is currently Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau. She also sits on the Boards of the James Beard Foundation, PopTech and Do Something. She served two terms as a Trustee of Trinity College in Hartford.

Ms. Millard holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Trinity College.

Patrick Kerins General Partner, NEA

Patrick joined NEA in 2006 as General Partner focusing on a broad range of information technology investments with particular emphasis on enterprise software, Software-as-a-Service, and Internet companies.

Pat sits on the boards of ChannelAdvisor, Millennial Media, Spring Wireless and TidalTV. Prior to joining NEA, Patrick was General Partner of Grotech Capital Group where he specialized in high-tech investments and served on a number of boards including Advertising.com, CDnow, Fieldglass Software, Hillcrest Labs, SALIX Technologies, and Synchrologic. Prior to Grotech, Patrick spent nearly 10 years at Alex. Brown & Sons as an investment banker for high technology companies. At Alex. Brown & Sons, he was responsible for a range of financing and advisory projects including initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions for high-tech companies. Prior to that, Patrick was a consultant with McKinsey & Co. Patrick served as an officer in the U.S. Navy where he spent substantially all his tenure on the staff of Admiral H.G. Rickover at the Headquarters of the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Patrick is Chairman Emeritus of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association. He received a Masters in Business Administration, with Distinction, from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University

Bob Goodman Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners

Bob Goodman joined Bessemer in 1998 and is the founding partner of Bessemer’s investment office in Larchmont, New York.  He focuses on investments in software, communications, and health care IT.

Prior to joining BVP, Bob founded two successful telecommunications companies: Celcore, Inc., a wireless equipment company, acquired by Alcatel through the acquisition of DSC in 1997; and Boatphone, a group of cellular operating companies in the Caribbean. Having acted as CEO in both companies, Bob brings the uncommon combination of entrepreneurial, operating and investment expertise to his portfolio companies.

As a venture capitalist, Bob has been involved in building many successful companies including leading the first rounds for Flarion (acquired by Qualcommn) and Bladelogic (acquired by BMC).

Bob is currently a member of the Board of Directors of BroadsoftGTSNetsmart TechnologiesSelectMinds, and Syncsort. Bob’s former portfolio companies include ART Advanced Recognition Technologies (purchased by Scansoft, now Nuance), Flarion Technologies (purchased by Qualcomm), Bladelogic (IPO, then acquired by BMC), IAG Research (acquired by Nielsen), Nistevo (acquired by Sterling), Octave Communications (purchased by Voyant, then Polycom), System Management ARTS (SMARTS, purchased by EMC), Taqua (purchased by Tekelec), Telica (purchased by Lucent), and Zensys (acquired by Sigma Designs).

Bob holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. In his personal time, Bob serves on several non-profit boards including The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty and The Play Group Theatre.

George Zachary General Partner, Charles River Ventures

George Zachary, general partner with Charles River Ventures, has more than 20 years of operating and investing experience in computing and consumer technology. At CRV, George focuses on building great services and software technology companies. George led the firm’s investments in Areae, Geni.com, GoTV, Millennial Media, Skyrider, SocialMedia Networks and Twitter.

Previously, George was a general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV). His directorships included: Accrue Software (Nasdaq:ACRU), Andale, Critical Path (Nasdaq: CPTH), Ovation Entertainment, Sandcastle (acquired by Adobe, Nasdaq:ADBE), Securify (acquired by Kroll-O’Gara, Nasdaq: KROG), Shutterfly (Nasdaq:SFLY), Supertracks (acquired by Centerspan) and Telebot (acquired by Z-Tel, Nasdaq: ZTEL).

Prior to MDV, George led the Nintendo 64 development business at Silicon Graphics, managed sales and marketing for virtual reality pioneer VPL Research, and served as a product marketeer at CATS Software. He is a board advisor at the MIT Sloan School of Business and Stanford BASES. He is also an advisor to X PRIZE. George earned a joint BS from MIT and MIT Sloan School of Business.

Jay Markley Partner, Columbia Capital

Jay joined Columbia Capital in 1996 and focuses on investments in the wireless and broadband sectors. Jay is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Antares Technologies, Broadsoft, Millennial Media and Softek Storage Solutions. He is actively involved with Hillcrest Laboratories, and PanGo Networks. Former portfolio companies that Jay worked closely with include Altiga Networks (acquired by Cisco Systems), Ocular Networks (acquired by Tellabs), Taqua (acquired by Tekelec), Torrent Networking Technologies (purchased by Ericsson), and WNP Communications (acquired by XO Communications).

Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Jay served at the Federal Communications Commission where he developed U.S. Government wireless communications and spectrum auction policy. He also held positions in corporate finance for Kidder, Peabody & Co. in both New York City and Hong Kong.

Jay received his B.A. from Washington & Lee University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Alan MacIntosh Managing Partner, Acta Wireless

Alan MacIntosh has over 20 years of international business experience starting in oil exploration with Schlumberger. He later undertook a product management role with Hewlett-Packard, before joining Canada’s Telesystem group in 1990, where he established TIW’s mobile operations in eight countries including the UK where he managed operations for three years. In 1997, Alan moved to sister company Microcell and co-founded GSM Capital, the first global wireless fund, backed by nine of the world’s leading operators.

Alan is a co-founder and the Managing Partner of Acta Wireless, a Partner with Actium Advisors and sits on the boards of WaveMetrix, Millennial Media, Cellfish Media and OZ Communications. A native of Scotland, he holds a BSc (Hons) in Offshore Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and MBA from INSEAD.
