Role:

  • Plan, design, configure and maintain MySQL databases on Linux servers for both production and development.
  • Perform data modeling and schema design.
  • Optimize database performance and scalability. Track down and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Advise engineers on performance tuning, query optimization, index tuning.
  • Create and modify MySQL stored procedures, functions and triggers.
  • Automate failover and recovery, backup scripting and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor infrastructure to ensure stability and 99.999% available operation.
  • Provide assistance to development/design teams to help integrate data persistence seamlessly.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years developing and maintaining MySQL databases in high availability production environments.
  • Experience working with Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • MySQL/Oracle certification(s)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
