DATABASE ENGINEER
Job Title: Database Engineer
Department: Software Engineering
Role:
- Plan, design, configure and maintain MySQL databases on Linux servers for both production and development.
- Perform data modeling and schema design.
- Optimize database performance and scalability. Track down and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Advise engineers on performance tuning, query optimization, index tuning.
- Create and modify MySQL stored procedures, functions and triggers.
- Automate failover and recovery, backup scripting and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor infrastructure to ensure stability and 99.999% available operation.
- Provide assistance to development/design teams to help integrate data persistence seamlessly.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years developing and maintaining MySQL databases in high availability production environments.
- Experience working with Oracle databases.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- MySQL/Oracle certification(s)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
