The Director of Publisher Services will evaluate supply needs for the network, with a heavy focus on traditional print and broadcast publisher accounts with support, and day to day communications, with both the publisher and the internal operations team. This position will identify and prospect new publisher relationships and secure meaningful contracts for the company to represent it’s inventory. In addition, the position will assist these publishers with their implementation and integration into the company’s advertising network and will help the organization manage the day to day tactics in supporting the publisher account. In this role, s/he will perform business development activities that include prospecting and networking new publisher relationships that drive incremental revenue to the company.. The position will evaluate the economics of inventory, and liaison with the publisher contacts to secure campaign approvals and secure additional inventory for the company to sell. Additional duties include providing the company with the best ways to monetize, segment, and grow available publisher account revenues by identifying quality inventory opportunities and, give recommendations and/or direction to the Advertising and Operations teams on CPM minimums or other unique deal parameters that impact the company and publisher’s ability to fill the inventory on hand.
The Director will need to have experience developing proposals, and creating momentum that leads to new business generation. This position will be responsible for developing senior level relationships with the monetization teams at the respective publisher accounts. The Director will use problem solving and analytical skills in order to determine the most effective means of increasing ROI for the company and the small and mid-sized publisher partners. Presentation of these findings will need to be prepared and delivered through both formal and informal correspondence and communicated via email, group meetings, and/or conference calls. In addition to weekly reports and daily updates, the Director will need to provide monthly forecasting reports, status updates, and progress reports to relevant internal groups regarding publisher impressions, revenues and campaign approval terms. These reports will help identify growth opportunities and out of the box ideas, to help drive key business decisions.
The Director will work most closely with internal groups such as with Sales, Technology, Finance, Operations and Product Management, in addition to the main responsibility of communicating with external clients as well. As a central point of communication for a publisher, the Director will help to coordinate efforts, streamline communication between teams and assist with the execution of suggested strategies, while at the same time ensuring publisher needs are met. S/He will also provide valuable insight on findings to key thought leaders. Additionally, this position will also help troubleshoot technical issues, secure campaign approvals, make recommendation to optimize, and overall maintain the delivery of campaigns within the allocated ad space.
