As Millennial Media's president and CEO, Paul is an evangelist for mobile advertising opportunities for brands, and for the evolution of mobile media business models. A well-known pioneer and industry leader in the global mobile entertainment and data marketplace, Paul led many groundbreaking efforts while at Verizon Wireless. His leadership resulted in new and successful business models and sub-economies that have led to rapid growth in mobile media.
Referred to as a “Content Guru” by Wireless Week, Paul has held key management roles with mobile and new media companies at various stages of growth to include Advertising.com, Tessco Technologies and American Personal Communications (now SprintNextel). Most recently Paul was a Venture Partner with Acta Wireless. He currently serves on the advisory boards of Networks In Motion, Intercasting and Mobile Greetings.
Ron ElwellPartner, Bessemer Venture Partners
Ron is a Venture Partner in the Wellesley Hills, MA office, specializing in the wireless sector. He joined BVP in August 2003, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to the firm. He has since guided BVP's investments in Advanced Recognition Technologies, where he served as Chairman of the Board until the company's acquisition by Scansoft. Ron also serves on the boards of HandsOn Mobile (a leading mobile entertainment company), GoTV (the leading made for mobile video studio), Millennial Media (wireless advertising), 3G Scene (a mobile casino), FG Wireless (3G handset design house located in Shanghai), Access Retail (alternate advertising network for GenY), Kajeet (Tween focused MVNO), Way Systems (mobile POS) and Netuitive (network intelligence).
Until early 2003, Ron was CEO of Octave Communications, a maker of teleconferencing equipment in which BVP invested. He led the company's international expansion and developed its wireless strategy, guiding it to an acquisition by Voyant Technologies. Ron joined Octave from Lernout & Hauspie, where he became President of Speech and Language Systems after the acquisition of Dictaphone. At Dictaphone, he held a number of executive positions including managing director of Canadian operations, vice president of marketing and product development, and senior vice president and general manager of communication recording systems and international operations. Ron is a graduate of Bucknell University.
George Zachary

George Zachary, general partner with Charles River Ventures, has more than 20 years of operating and investing experience in computing and consumer technology. At CRV, George focuses on building great services and software technology companies. George led the firm's investments in Areae, Geni.com, GoTV, Millennial Media, Skyrider, SocialMedia Networks and Twitter.
Previously, George was a general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV). His directorships included: Accrue Software (Nasdaq:ACRU), Andale, Critical Path (Nasdaq: CPTH), Ovation Entertainment, Sandcastle (acquired by Adobe, Nasdaq:ADBE), Securify (acquired by Kroll-O'Gara, Nasdaq: KROG), Shutterfly (Nasdaq:SFLY), Supertracks (acquired by Centerspan) and Telebot (acquired by Z-Tel, Nasdaq: ZTEL).
Prior to MDV, George led the Nintendo 64 development business at Silicon Graphics, managed sales and marketing for virtual reality pioneer VPL Research, and served as a product marketeer at CATS Software. He is a board advisor at the MIT Sloan School of Business and Stanford BASES. He is also an advisor to X PRIZE. George earned a joint BS from MIT and MIT Sloan School of Business.
Jay Markley
Partner, Columbia Capital
Jay joined Columbia Capital in 1996 and focuses on investments in the wireless and broadband sectors. Jay is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Antares Technologies, Broadsoft, Millenial Media and Softek Storage Solutions. He is actively involved with Hillcrest Laboratories, and PanGo Networks. Former portfolio companies that Jay worked closely with include Altiga Networks (acquired by Cisco Systems), Ocular Networks (acquired by Tellabs), Taqua (acquired by Tekelec), Torrent Networking Technologies (purchased by Ericsson), and WNP Communications (acquired by XO Communications). Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Jay served at the Federal Communications Commission where he developed U.S. Government wireless communications and spectrum auction policy. He also held positions in corporate finance for Kidder, Peabody & Co. in both New York City and Hong Kong. Jay received his B.A. from Washington & Lee University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Alan MacIntosh
Managing Partner, Acta Wireless
Alan MacIntosh has over 20 years of international business experience starting in oil exploration with Schlumberger. He later undertook a product management role with Hewlett-Packard, before joining Canada's Telesystem group in 1990, where he established TIW's mobile operations in eight countries including the UK where he managed operations for three years. In 1997, Alan moved to sister company Microcell and co-founded GSM Capital, the first global wireless fund, backed by nine of the world's leading operators.
Alan is a co-founder and the Managing Partner of Acta Wireless, a Partner with Actium Advisors and sits on the boards of WaveMetrix, Millennial Media, Cellfish Media and OZ Communications. A native of Scotland, he holds a BSc (Hons) in Offshore Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and MBA from INSEAD.
