Nexage Acquisition: A Letter From Michael Barrett and FAQs
I’m pleased to announce that today Millennial Media completed the acquisition of Boston, MA-based Nexage. It is a fantastic company with a great team and leading-edge technology, and we are excited to welcome them to the Millennial Media family. You can catch up on the news here.
I wanted to share this video that shows our enthusiasm for welcoming Nexage to Millennial Media.
Nexage is the leading independent mobile exchange and Supply Side Platform (SSP). Combined with our current Demand Side Platform (DSP) and Data Management Platform (DMP), we are completing our vision of creating an end-to-end “full stack.” This is a big step that immediately expands our mobile exchange capabilities while strengthening our traditional full service business.
As an end-to-end platform, Millennial provides solutions to publishers and advertisers on both a managed and a programmatic basis:
Our SSP offers superior monetization solutions for publishers, driving value through mediation, the MMX/Nexage exchange, and Millennial’s managed advertising business;
Our exchange connects buyers and sellers in a real-time bidding (RTB) auction and with private marketplaces that provide preferred access to content and audiences. Through our full-service managed media business, we serve the largest marketers and brands. Millennial’s cutting-edge DMP enables advertisers to reach specific audiences across the mobile ecosystem using our platform data, third party data or advertisers’ own CRM data.
Our SSP solution maximizes overall yield for publishers across 120+ networks, the exchange and Millennial’s multi-million dollar business in managed spend from leading global publishers. With the demand from our own managed business plus demand from external buyers, we believe Nexage will allow us to drive even higher yield for publishers, which in turn should allow advertisers better access to premium inventory and impressions.
In combination, we will fuel the mobile marketplace by connecting global publishers and marketers to reach engaged mobile consumers throughout the ecosystem. This “full stack” solution offers simplicity and transparency to buyers and sellers. And as an independent partner, we can access all major sources of supply and demand without the inherent conflicts of maximizing the value of our own “owned & operated” inventory.
If you have questions, refer to our FAQs below.
Expect to hear much more from us as we kick off 2015. These are extremely exciting times for our Company and the entire mobile ecosystem.
Happy holidays, and as always, thank you for your continued support of Millennial Media.
